As twitter user Dieting Hippo pointed out, the title screen for Super Mario Bros 2 has background elements that are off-puttingly misaligned. This hack fixes it.
Also, the bonus chance screen has the same problem, as pointed out by Darkdata (SysL). Not only that, I have noticed it has a bogus half bush on the bottom right. All fixed now.
Patching Instructions:
1- Download Super Mario Bros 2 Title Screen Fix
2- Get your Super Mario Bros 2 USA PRG1 ROM (please legally own the game). Make a BACKUP of it!
4- Open lunar ips, click “Apply IPS Patch”. Locate the ips file contained in the zip.
5- Locate the Super Mario Bros 2 ROM to apply the patch to.
Done! Now play it on your NES emulator of preference!

Also the old version of Luigi’s sprite (and maybe others), and he’s holding the Snifit backwards at a much higher attachment position. The root is also changed (even as a silhouette). I have all of this changed in my improvement patch now (not the one in the image I posted though). It’s a demo patch for my “DavePatcher” tool. If you want to get the fixed Luigi tiles easily you can apply the patch and extract the modified ones.
